Out of Uniform the 9th episode of season 2 of Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties.

Plot[]

While swimming in a quiet lake in the majestic Canadian wilderness, Dudley Do-Right does not notice when Snidely Whiplash steals his uniform. Snidely places the uniform on a scarecrow, leaving Dudley high and dry, as it were. There is no crime greater in the R.C.M.P. than being out of uniform, so he stays out in the wilderness.

Nell Fenwick finds the scarecrow in Dudley’s uniform and once she realizes that it is not actually Dudley, she take the uniform back to the fort, where Inspector Fenwick leaps to the conclusion that Dudley was killed in action.

Over the months of being out of doors without the ability the shave, Dudley’s hair and beard grow so long that he is completely covered with hair. Eavesdropping at Snidely’s shack, he overhears Snidely plan to kidnap Nell, so he runs back to the fort to warn the Inspector. However, when he sees him, the Inspector sees him he declares him to be a wolfman, and orders the Mounties to get him.

Having fled back into the wilderness, Dudley sees Snidely with the kidnapped Nell. While Snidely and Homer deliver a ransom note to the Inspector, Dudley snuck into Snidely’s shack to release Nell. However, when she sees him, Nell faints at the sight of him, and only comes to realize that he’s Dudley, when he sings the song, Shortnin' Bread.

When the two return to the R.C.M.P. camp, Inspector Fenwick refuses to believe that the wolfman is Dudley, and has him thrown into the stockade. Nell brings Dudley a razor and his uniform, and soon Dudley looks his old self. Finally recognizing him, the Inspector sends Dudley out to bring Whiplash in. When he returns, he does not have Snidely, but declares that he has something better, his clothes. The episode ends with Snidely in the wilderness with a loincloth made of leaves.
